CREATIVE WRITING CLUB SCHEDULE & PLAN OF ACTION FOR FALL 2014:
(Contact our club’s advisor: yelena.bailey-kirby@csn.edu with any questions.)
***This schedule is tentative, so adjustments may be made with more
dates added for club events/fundraisers.***
|
NOTE: All new or
old club members are invited to attend meetings to give us your input for
planning events, field trips, poetry slams, open mics, and other fun
activities in the community and on campus. Therefore, ask to be put on our e-mail
list for club updates or follow us on our Facebook page (CSN English Creative
Writing Club) for these same updates.
Moreover,
all writers are invited to share their poetry, fiction and other writing at
our workshop sessions and receive feedback on their work. If a student wants
feedback, bring enough copies for everyone to follow along at our club
meetings when providing feedback or send an e-mail attachment of your work to
our officers at creativewriting.club@csn.edu at least
twenty-four hours before the club meeting, so they can forward a copy to
other members who can come prepared to provide feedback during the workshop
session.
Please
review YBK’s criteria for “Workshop Etiquette” here and on the creative writing club page of her website, so you are
prepared to give and receive constructive feedback on writing during the
workshops sessions. We want to maintain a respectful and safe environment for
everyone to share their work, so review the workshop etiquette. However, if a
student cannot attend the meeting, ask our officers about posting your work on our club’s
blog at the following link: http://csncreativewritingclub.blogspot.com/, and our
community of writers will be able to provide feedback on your work as well.
